Hydronic heating systems are practical, efficient and versatile, offering options such as the indirect-fired water heater, radiant systems, snow-melting applications, tankless coils, and hydronic coils. They can divide your home into heating zones, allowing control of heat in different rooms with separate thermostats. The key element of a hydronic heating system is the boiler. Peerless® remains one of the top boiler companies in this industry, manufacturing boilers in many sizes and variations for applications including: residential and commercial, gas and oil-fired, hot water and steam systems, and direct-vent and natural-draft venting. Many Peerless® residential boilers are Energy Star® compliant, very beneficial in keeping control of rising fuel costs.
Residential boilers include:

Chicago Furnace Repair 24/7

Chicago Furnace Repair 24/7
Your furnace is the heart of your home or business. You can take control of your heating bill in two ways: by making your home or business as energy efficient as possible, and by making the heating system more efficient. Depending on the age of your furnace, it may be wise not to spend money on major furnace modifications but rather on the purchase of a new energy efficient furnace that will save money on heating and air conditioning, conserve fuel, and keep your home consistently warm in winter and cool in summer.
Some facts about gas and electric furnaces
Gas furnaces – either natural or propane – operate in much the same way. The heating cycle begins as the temperature in the room falls below the thermostat’s chosen setting, thereby sending a signal to fire up the burners. Older furnaces used a pilot light as an ignition source; modern, more efficient ones use a silicone nitride “glow stick”, through which a current of electricity passes when the furnace calls for heat. The heating cycle commences when a small amount of air and gas enters the combustion chamber, where it is ignited by the pilot light or glow stick. A heat exchanger, mounted above the combustion chamber, absorbs as much heat as possible from this process. Cold air is warmed immediately, and once it reaches a preset temperature, an electric motor powers a blower fan that forces the warm air into the building’s heating ducts and out through the registers. The combustion process results in byproducts such as carbon monoxide or other harmful gases, but high-efficiency furnaces capture and compress them, where they are then ignited in a second combustion chamber before being vented away from the home, usually via a flue pipe. As the furnace distributes warm air, the displaced cold air flows through ducting back to the furnace, where it collects in a plenum box. Before the air enters the plenum, dust particles are filtered out through furnace filters, located at either the cold air return grate in the living space or at the plenum’s entrance.
At the base of an electric furnace, a motorized fan pulls air out of the building’s interior and pushes it into electric heating coils. The air intake opening is covered by a special filter that traps dust, dirt and mold. The fan pushes air directly upwards, where it passes through three layers of red-hot electric coils, increasing the air’s temperature substantially before it’s propelled into an outlet pipe that branches to vents throughout the building. These furnaces, which raise air temperature by recirculating heated air, are controlled by an electronic thermostat which is programmed to determine run-time, speed of the motor and temperature of the coils. While higher-pressure warm air rises up, lower-pressure cool air naturally sinks to the basement or lowest level of the building, where the furnace “inhales” it and heats it. Because the average volume of a building is many times the air intake rate for an electric furnace, the thermostat has built-in functions to determine how much thermal energy is needed, thus enabling the furnace to shut off at a certain point to prevent temperatures reaching higher than expected.
Citywide Supply & Service provides installation, complete safety inspection (we examine heat exchangers, clean burners, pilot orifices, vacuum lines and blowers), maintenance and repair of all makes and models of gas or electric furnaces, residential or commercial. If you are looking to replace your furnace, we carry a full line with options to fit the budget of any home or business.
We offer competitive, affordable pricing, backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. There are no hidden fees, nor extra charges for services like evening and weekend repairs or installations. We have a basic service charge to come to your home or business, inspect the furnace, evaluate the work needed to be done, and give you a flat rate estimate. Because Citywide’s repair trucks are stocked with most common parts, many repairs can be done on the first visit.
